Enlighten, inspire, initiate discourses - that is the mission of the ASA International Humanitarian Film Festival. In more than 60 films, it reports on flight and displacement, on the often difficult access to education and again and again on equal opportunities - the core theme of this year‘s festival. The films were selected from over 2,500 submissions from 122 countries.
The 3rd ASA International Humanitarian Film Festival will once again be held in Weimar, Germany. It will open on November 7th in the auditorium of the Bauhaus University. No less than six films will be shown. A buffet is provided on site.
The festival runs until 10th November 2019. At the end there will be five prizes. Weimar Mayor Ralf Kirsten will also attend the ceremony.
Festival director is again Majid Mousahebi. He is himself a filmmaker and author and has already organized festivals in Iran. Venues include the Audimax of the Bauhaus University, the Mon Ami and the Cinestar in Weimar. The entry is free. But because of the limited seats, you need tickets. They are available at the venues.
The films will be presented to a jury of three, consisting of:
- Jakob Hüfner, he holds the professorship for Crossmedia Moving Image at the Bauhaus University.
- actor Andreas Nickl
- California State University, Fresno (will be activated online)
